Meet Lash™ The Gypsy Horse

gypsy vanner horses-Lash the Gypsy Horse

Lash is the first Gypsy Horse colt born in North America and is the epitome of innocence, curiosity, and vitality. He is a rambunctious, energetic and inquisitive equine! Filled with a love for life and never-ending curiosity, he searches out life's challenges with endless energy.

Being a young lad, he has a lot to learn about life in general. Sometimes he thinks he knows more than he actually does and can be impulsive, jumping headlong into an adventure. When he's happy, he can be giggly and giddy with excitement; when sad, he can be very glum. What he feels, he really feels. He lives his young life with passion and love. He loves to learn and explore. He is naïve and gullible and is developing his skills to make good choices.

Lash is filled with wide-eyed wonder. He is curious, silly, and youthful. He often can be impulsive, sometimes stubborn, yet loyal to his new friends. Sometimes he just jumps right in without thinking things through. He definitely doesn't always look before he leaps.

Lash loves to learn new sayings, and some of his favorites are, "Ready when you are!" "Whoa, major cool." "When in doubt, pony out!" "The grass is always greener." "Don't fence me in!" and "Who's the better horse here?"

Lash is the "everykid." He's a character that we can relate to, and live through, as Lash goes on his adventures and learns his lessons. As Lash learns, we learn. In this way, Lash is a teacher, not always because he knows the answer, which he sometimes does, but because we watch him learn and grow. He can teach by example. He embodies the basic attributes of the viewing audience, they can relate to him, they see themselves in him. He is the kind of character kids easily relate to, like, and care about. What he experiences, we experience. We watch Lash be happy, sad, scared, etc. We watch him make mistakes, common reasonable mistakes. We learn with him. Lash always learns a lesson; and if not his lesson, he's involved in helping one of his friends learn and grow. He is a lovable colt (kid), never intentionally mean, just inexperienced. His mistakes are reasonable for his age. We empathize with him and his friends.

Because Lash is "one of a kind," he has to adapt and overcome issues of difference and diversity. He constantly carries the responsibility of his family, being the only one who can tell his story. He depends upon his inner voice to guide him and is often faced with both negative and positive peer pressure.
